The Atlanta Hawks had dropped eight straight road playoff games until Jeff Teague (teeg) scored a playoff career-high 28 points and Paul Millsap added 25 to lead the Hawks past the top-seeded Pacers 101-93 in Indiana. Deron Williams and Joe Johnson each scored 24 points in the Nets’ 94-87 triumph over the Raptors.
UNDATED (AP) — The NBA’s Western Conference playoffs have opened with wins by the Golden State Warriors and Oklahoma City Thunder. The Warriors were 109-105 winners over the Clippers in Los Angeles as Klay Thompson scored 22 points and David Lee added 20. Kevin Durant had 33 points, eight rebounds and seven assists as the Thunder knocked off Memphis 100-86 after blowing most of a 25-point lead.
UNDATED (AP) — The St. Louis Blues, Columbus Blue Jackets and Colorado Avalanche were Saturday’s Stanley Cup playoff winners. The Blues beat the Blackhawks 4-3 on Barrett Jackman’s goal at 5:50 of overtime, Matt Calvert’s second goal of the night gave the Jackets a 4-3 win over Pittsburgh in double-overtime, and rookie Nathan McKinnon had a goal and three assists to help the Avs beat the Wild 4-2. The Blues and Avalanche own two-games-to-none leads in their first-round series, and the Blue Jackets are tied at a game apiece following their first-ever playoff win.
HILTON HEAD, S.C. (AP) — Luke Donald is the leader through three rounds of the RBC Heritage at Hilton Head. Donald fired a 5-under 66 on Saturday for an 8-under total, two strokes ahead of John Huh (huh). Donald had an eagle and six birdies a he tries to finally win the event after four top-three finishes since 2009.
KAPOLEI, Hawaii (AP) — Michelle Wie (wee) has earned her third LPGA title and first since 2010 by capturing the LOTTE Championship in her native Hawaii. Wie began the final round four shots off the pace before firing a 5-under 67 for a two-stroke win over Angela Stanford. Inbee Park closed with a 67 to end up three strokes back.
