McCrory: Death Toll Reaches 20 In NC

LUMBERTON, NC — Governor Pat McCrory tours damages in Robeson County following Hurricane Matthew and provides an update on recovery efforts in North Carolina.

McCrory says the death toll in NC has grown to 20 following another death reported Wednesday. 19 of those deaths being drownings throughout flooded areas.

Damages throughout the county are extensive, and McCrory says that this is the worst disaster that the area has ever seen. Flooding is still a major problem, and more concerns remain for the areas of Greenville and Kinston, NC as rivers are expected to crest this week, according to officials.
