Two Injured In Statesville Shooting

STATESVILLE, N.C. – Two people are in the hospital recovering following a shooting in Statesville.

It happened at a residence on Gay Street near Salisbury Highway around 8 a.m. on Wednesday, March 13th.

Police said they found 43-year-old James Adrian Griffin in the street with a head injury. Authorities also found 47-year-old Tasheka Reid Aleryani inside the home with gunshot wounds to the head and chest.

Officials said the shooting stems from an altercation between the two, leading Griffin to shoot Aleryani.

Aleryani was transported to Carolinas Medical Center while Griffin was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Their condition is unclear at this time.

Authorities did not say if either man will face charges.
