Student Struck By Car At Independence High School

CHARLOTTE, N.C – A student was struck by a car at Independence High School on Wednesday, according to a statement released by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.

School officials released the following statement:

Good morning Independence High School families.  This is Principal Mims reaching out to let you know about an incident that happened on campus during morning arrival.  A student was hit by a car in the crosswalk on campus. The student is recovering at home.

As you drive on campus, please be mindful of those around you. We have many students walking and riding bikes and scooters to school and their safety, as well as the safety of all staff and students, is of the utmost importance. Operate your vehicles with caution on campus.

Thank you for your continued support of Independence High School. Have a safe day.
