WCCB has confirmed the victim as 37-year-old Jacobia English Lane.
Lane was shot while gathered with family members at a Gastonia home on Nottingham Drive.
A vigil is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the home at 938 Nottingham Drive.
GASTONIA, N.C. – Gastonia Police are investigating a homicide that occurred Saturday morning shortly before 12:30 a.m. on the 900 block of Nottingham Drive.
Police say they found a woman who had been shot and unresponsive in the home.
Officials say that no arrests have been made at this time.
The case is under investigation.
Police are asking for the public’s help to identify the suspect involved.
