Police: Three Men Arrested For Using Craigslist To Rob People

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police say three men used Craigslist to rob people in Charlotte.  Now, the three suspects are facing a laundry list of charges.  

Detectives arrested Chris Bennett, Deonte Stitt and Tadarian Lindsey.  They are accused of posting ads on Craigslist saying they are selling cell phones.  

In each case, the victims agreed to meet the suspects in neighborhoods in northwest Charlotte.  Once the victim arrived on the scene, police say the suspects would assault them and take their money.  

Here’s a break down of charges for each suspect:

Chris Bennett: robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of common law robbery, two counts of conspiracy to commit common law robbery and larceny from auto. 

Deonte Stitt: two counts of common law robbery and two counts of conspiracy to commit common law robbery.

Tadarian Lindsey: robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, common law robbery and conspire to commit common law robbery.

Police say additional charges are pending in the case.
