ROCK HILL, S.C. (News Release) — Keystone is holding their fifth annual Detective Mike Doty Memorial Run. The purpose behind the run is to continue Detective Mike Doty’s legacy of preventing underage drinking and saving lives that are impacted by the opioid epidemic.
Detective Doty was killed in the line of duty. A suspect shot multiple officers during the incident that happened on January 16, 2018. Doty died from the injuries he sustained in the shooting. Click HERE to read more.
Detective Doty was truly a leader in the law enforcement field around substance use prevention and treatment. Keystone also hopes to raise awareness around substance use issues and continue to break the stigma of addiction.
The Detective Mike Doty Memorial Run will be held on Saturday, April 27 at Winthrop Lake in Rock Hill. The 10K will kick off at 8:00am and the 5K will follow at 8:10am. The Fun Run will start at 9:00am. The event will take place rain or shine.
