BURKE COUNTY, N.C. β Authorities say a branch fell from a tree, hitting and killing an 8-year-old in Burke County.
First responders were called to the area off Sugar Loaf Road on March 25th. The victim’s brother led deputies to the area where the tree branch fell on the child.
The incident occurred in the woods near the children’s home.
Duties say they located an 8-year-old lying near the tree branch. The child was transported to UNC Morganton but died from the injuries he sustained. No foul play is suspected in this case.
