ROCK HILL, SC — Police say a woman filed a complaint on Tuesday after learning that her information had been posted on the adult classified section of the site Backpage.
According to a report, men were showing up at her home after seeing an add featuring an image from her Facebook profile along with her address, and contact info on the adult section of the site. The victim claimed she knew who the suspect was, and told police that she had turned him down when he sought out a relationship with her. Officials say the victim made it known that she did not want to be contacted by him any further, and showed them text messages that were sent to her after that fact.
Police say they contacted the suspect who became “overly defensive and irate” over the phone when confronted about the issue. According to the report, the suspect ended the call by yelling “F— you” to the officer.
Officials say they advised the suspect to make no further contact with the victim and to immediately remove the posting from Backpage.
