CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A 24-year-old man from Monroe was sentenced to 25 years in prison for sexual exploitation of a minor, according to the United States Attorney’s Office.
Jake Henry Anderson, of Monroe, was sentenced to 300 months in prison Thursday. U.S. District Judge Frank D. Whitney also ordered a lifetime of supervised release once Anderson is released.
Anderson pleaded guilty to child pornography charges on June 29th, 2022.
In July of 2021, Anderson became friends with a 15-year-old minor female from Tennessee on Snapchat. During their conversations, he would send sexually explicit images to her. He also expressed his interest in meeting the minor victim and making her his girlfriend.
On July 8th, 2021, Anderson drove to the victim’s home in Tennessee, picked her up and drove her back to his house in Union County. While they were there, Anderson engaged in sexual activity with the female minor, recorded the acts and saved the videos to his Snapchat account.
Authorities arrested Anderson after the female teenager was reported missing.
Court documents also found that Anderson contacted another 16-year-old female victim on Snapchat. Officials said he pressured the victim to send him sexual photos of herself, to leave her family and move in with him. Anderson also drove by the victim’s house and briefly met her.
Anderson will have to register as a sex offender after his prison sentence.
