One Person Displaced In Accidental House Fire

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – One person was displaced from their northeast Charlotte home after it caught on fire and caused approximately $200,000 in damages.

The fire happened after 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 30th on Oren Thompson Road, according to Charlotte Fire’s X.

Nobody was injured in the fire but one person was displaced from the home and two cats were rescued.

Crews from Charlotte and Harrisburg were able to control the fire in approximately 40 minutes.

Officials determined that the fire was caused accidentally in the home’s garage. An estimated $200,000 in property value was lost in the fire.

The Red Cross is assisting the displaced occupant at this time.
