How To Spot Fake Eclipse Glasses

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – If you plan on watching April’s rare celestial event, be sure that the sunglasses you plan to wear are real. 

Fake eclipse glasses are hitting the market and here’s how to tell if your glasses are real or not.

The orange-framed glasses are counterfeit. They come with black sunglass-like lenses that have straight left and right edges.

Real eclipse glasses have reflective lenses with curved left and right edges. 

The 2024 total solar eclipse is on Monday, April 8th.
