CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Winter hasn’t kicked the bucket just yet.
An incoming cold front that’s bringing widespread rain and wind this Wednesday morning will also pull much colder air into the Carolinas by the end of the week. Northwesterly flow will sweep up the leftover moisture and lead to significant snow in the High Country. Communities above 3500′ can expect a healthy 1-3″ through Friday morning, with locally higher amounts approaching 6″.
While the Piedmont certainly won’t see any snow, it will get in on the colder air. Lows will likely dip into the 30s in the Queen City Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings. Wind chills may even flirt with the 20s as we wake up on Friday.
