Clinton FBI Investigation North Carolina Impact
CHARLOTTE, NC– “There are two words you never want associated with your organization and that’s FBI investigates and that’s particularly something you don’t want two weeks before an election,” said UNC Charlotte Political Professor, Eric Heberlig.
And that’s exactly what the Clinton campaign is dealing with right now. UNC Charlotte political professor Eric Heberlig says in a state like North Carolina these issues can make a difference.
“The races have been razor thin, The last two elections the polls are close so this could be one of the states where any loss of support could tip it from Clinton to Trump,” said Heberlig.
Clinton addressed the FBI investigation saying even Director Comey said this information may not be significant.
“We are calling on the FBI to release all the information it has,” said Clinton.
While Donald Trump was quick to use the latest news to sway last minute voters.
“Hillary Clinton’s corruption is on a scale we have never seen before. We must not let her take her criminal scheme into the Oval Office,” said Trump.
” The upside for Clinton is that early voting has started in more than half the states so those votes are pretty much already locked in,” said Heberlig.
Voters have already packed the polls for early voting in North Carolina. Heberlig says the email scandal might not mean more voters for Trump, but could sway less votes for Clinton.
“Even if voters don’t change their mind if you have a small percentage of voters who decide not to vote that could be the difference in a close state like North Carolina,” said Heberlig.
