Iredell County Deputies Seize Largest Amount Of Oxycotin In County’s History
IREDELL COUNTY, NC — The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office seized its largest amount of Oxycotin in county history thanks to a traffic stop last Tuesday.
Officials say Anthony Prettyman and Cory Laurenson were heading south on I-77 near mile marker 54 when ICE Team deputies stopped the pair’s Land Rover for traffic violations. Deputies then searched the vehicle after noticing a bag a marijuana in the glovebox when Prettyman reached for his registration.
During the search deputies found a paint can with a “false bottom” that contained over 5,300 30 milligram Oxycotin pills, and another half-ounce of marijuana in a shoebox. Investigators also seized the vehicle and over $2,000 in cash.
Prettyman and Laurenson have both been charged with one Felony Count each of Trafficking in Schedule II Controlled Substance by Possession, Maintain a Vehicle for the Transport of Controlled Substance and Possession of Marijuana. Both have also received a $2,000,000 secured bond.
The investigation is ongoing.
