American Tourist Killed By Elephant
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – An Arizona woman is dead after a rare elephant attack during what friends called a “dream vacation” in Africa.
Gail Mattson, 79, was killed last weekend when a charging elephant flipped over the car she was traveling in at a national park in Zambia.
Video of the tragic incident has gone viral on social media.
Friends described Mattson as adventurous. Before she left for the African safari, Mattson told her friends she was going on the trip of a lifetime.
An exact cause of death for Mattson is unclear. She was one of six tourists with the group that day.
