  • Widespread rain/storms this weekend
  • Cooler by Sunday
Discussion:
High pressure is keeping our forecast warm and generally dry again today.Highs will reach the mid to upper 80s with clouds filling in this afternoon. The record for Charlotte is 89 for today. We will need to monitor a boundary to our north near the VA/NC border. If this sags south today, it could bring isolated strong storms to the northern tier fo the region. The ridge of high pressure will begin to flatten midweek with a cold front driving through the region late Wednesday. Not expecting much moisture with this front, but an isolated storm possible. Thursday will be warm and sunny with highs back into the upper 80s. Unsettled pattern returns for the weekend bringing more widespread rain and storms. Temps fall back below average by Sunday with highs not getting out of the mid 60s.
