CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police say a man had a medical episode after being attacked by two dogs in west Charlotte.
MEDIC says they transported the patient to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. Two dogs allegedly tried to attack the man, an air conditioning technician doing repairs at a home on Remount Road near Wilkinson Boulevard around 4pm, but he was not bitten.
Police say the man called 911 in reference to the attack. Police say a second call was made moments later requesting MEDIC because the man had a medical episode, but officials do not yet know whether the two incidents were related.
Officials with CMPD Animal Care and Control say the dogs became aggressive when officers approached them and tried to bite their sticks and charge at them. Officers were able to get the dogs into the backyard where they were able to cage the animals and take them away.
The dogs are currently being kept at the CMPD ACC shelter, and the investigation is ongoing.
