Monroe Woman And Two-Year-Old Burned During Robbery

MONROE, N.C. – A Monroe woman and a 2-year-old were transported to the hospital after they were allegedly assaulted and burned during a robbery on Tuesday.

According to a news release, the victims were assaulted upon entering their home around 2:40 p.m. on east Talleyrand Avenue.

The adult victim was transported to the hospital and treated while the child was airlifted to Atrium Main due to second degree burns to his face and head. He is in stable condition.

Police say the victim is described as a black male wearing a striped red and white shirt and a black head wrap. Reports say he left the burglary on foot following the robbery.
