Further investigation of the Fishers Farm apartment fire revealed that the fire was deemed accidental with a grill on the second floor balcony causing $850, 000 in damages. Red Cross is assisting residents who have been displaced.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A two-alarm fire was issued at an apartment complex in south Charlotte on Sunday afternoon.

The fire started at an apartment complex off Fishers Farm Lane near Pineville-Matthews Road. The second alarm was issued just after 3:30 p.m.

Over 60 firefighters helped battle the fire and control it in approximately 50 minutes.

Charlotte Fire said no injured were reported to civilians or firefighters.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
