CHARLOTTE, NC — Police are looking for the suspects they say assaulted a news crew during the Charlotte riots on September 21st.
According to CMPD, two members of a news crew were walking to their van, which was parked in a lot at N. Brevard and E. Trade Streets, when they were attacked by unkown suspects. The crew was attempting to walk through the intersection of N. Brevard and E. Trade where rioters were setting fire to objects in the street.
Police say that’s when the cameraman was knocked unconscious and beaten. The female reporter attempted to shield the cameraman’s head, but was thrown off of him by another suspect.
Witnesses told police that a black male in his late teens to early 20s, wearing a red hoodie with light colored pants, punched the cameraman and took off. Detectives were able to get some footage and an image of the suspects, pictured above, from the assaulted crew.
