CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Three people were injured in an accidental fire at an apartment complex in east Charlotte Wednesday morning, according to the Charlotte Fire Department.
It happened around 3 a.m. at an apartment in the Somerstone Estates near Albemarle Road.
Three people were treated on-scene. Medic said they transported one patient to Atrium Main.
Firefighters contained the fire in approximately 20 minutes. CFD believes it started by a cooking accident.
The fire caused an estimated $42,000 in damages
The Red Cross is assisting the displaced occupants at this time.
