- Summer-Like Pattern Next Week
Discussion:
High pressure will keep sunny skies in the forecast today. Highs will climb into the upper 80s across the region this afternoon with winds shifting out of the southeast later in the day. High pressure will scoot off the coast Friday allowing an opening for a cold front to push into the region this weekend. Friday will remain warm and dry for the majority of the day with scattered storms popping up late in the evening. Severe threat will remain low Saturday, but with cloudy skies and waves of showers and storms this will put a damper on some outdoor events. Heavy rain could lead to localized flooding. 1-2″ of rainfall possible through early next week depending on where storms train. By Tuesday, temps will begin to climb after only reaching the upper 70s to lower 80s over the weekend. Highs will top out in upper 80s to near 90. We’ll fall into more of a summer-like pattern with afternoon storms. An increase in instability with the added heat could lead to a higher severe threat, so it will be something to watch.
