CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The four CMPD officers that were injured in the deadly shooting last Monday have been released from the hospital, according to a news release.
CMPD said officers Jack Blowers and Michael Giglio were released on Monday. Chris Tolley and Justin Campbel were discharged on Tuesday.
“You were our heroes when our officers needed help the most. We appreciate and are grateful for the continued service provided over the past week,” CMPD said in a statement Tuesday.
CMPD says the task force, which is comprised of officers from multiple agencies, was attempting to serve the warrant on 39-year-old Terry Clark Hughes, Jr. He was wanted for possession of a firearm by a felon and two counts of felony flee to elude arrest out of Lincoln County, North Carolina.
Statesville Police Department Cpl. Casey Hoover, who was serving on the task force, underwent surgery and is listed in stable condition.
