Officials say Taylor, who lived with his 19-month-old son and the child’s mother, assaulted his family just after 10pm at their home on Camp Creek Road. The two had been arguing all night, according to reports, but when it turned physical the mother called over a female friend and her son to help.

Reports say Taylor assaulted the friend’s son, and forced his family back inside with a shotgun. At that point the friend called 911.

The standoff lasted several hours before the mother and her baby were finally able to leave. Shortly after 3am Taylor turned himself over to authorities.

Officials say a shotgun was found inside the home, and no serious injuries where reported during the incident. The mother told investigators that Taylor had threatened to kill her and hit her and the child while they were inside the home.

Taylor is charged with two counts of Pointing and Presenting a Firearm, two counts of Kidnapping, Domestic Violence First Degree, and Unlawful Neglect of a Child. He was released Sunday with an electronic monitor and a $100,000 surety bond.
