Due to power outages Union Elementary and North Brook Elementary in Lincoln County are also closed.Due to impacts from storms yesterday and overnight, All Gaston and Cleveland county schools will be closed Thursday, May 9th.
According to Cleveland County Schools, staff will have an optional workday with a two-hour delay.
A teacher workday is optional in Gaston County.

More than a dozen schools are closed due to power outages in Mecklenburg County. There will not be remote learning or after school activities.
