WASHINGTON, D.C. — Tonight the family of a second American journalist murdered by ISIS militants is breaking their silence.
The White House confirms video showing the beheading of Steven Sotloff is real. He was taken hostage more than a year ago. A spokesperson says the family is grieving, but will emerge from the ordeal… and hopes the U.S. takes action.
“We will not allow our enemies to hold us hostage with the sole weapons they possess: fear,” said Sotloff Family Spokesman Barak Barfi.
“Those who make the mistake of harming Americans will learn that we will not forget. That our reach is long and that justice will be served,” said President Obama.
President Obama addressed Sotloff’s murder at the NATO summit in Wales. He’s promising to destroy ISIS, but has not released a specific plan.
