Veteran Attacked During Uptown Riots Speaks Out
CHARLOTTE, NC– For the first time, we’re hearing from a man who was attacked in an Uptown parking garage during the riots.
Tonight, David Palmer, a seven year Army veteran, wants to say “Thank you” to the Charlotte community for their donations and prayers.
He also thanks CMPD and all first responders.
Palmer was attacked during this rioting on september 21st in the fourth street garage after leaving dinner.
He declined to go into many details, only saying he was walking and texting when he saw the group approach.
“I let it go right after that night. I mean, the city was in turmoil. Everybody was going crazy. People are gonna strike out. But I’m not one to hold hate, grudges.”
Palmer’s injuries are now healing: his eye socket was fractured, his nose broken and bones down the left side of his face.
He now lives in another city, but says that move was planned before what happened.
