Police: Man Showed Up At Police Department With Gunshot Wound

YORK, S.C.ย —ย Police are investigating after a man showed up at a local police department with a gunshot wound.

At approximately 12:50 pm on November 19th, York County police officers were dispatched after news of shots fired on McClain Street. While enroute, officers were advised that the victim, a 45 year-old man, was in the lobby of the police department with a gunshot wound. Once officers arrived at the scene, the victim was able to be transported to the hospital where he was listed as critical, but stable, condition.

Witnesses to the scene claim that three black males were scene running from the incident’s location after the gunshots, and identified the shooter as Antwain Lamaries Letim Carter, 26 years-old, of 61 McClain Street.

York County K-9 tracking team, along with deputies and South Carolina Highway patrol were able to secure the perimeter in order to locate the three men.ย Detectives and York County Multi-jurisdictional Forensic Services personnel also responded to process the scene and interview witnesses.

However, Officers were unable to locate the three men, but a warrant has been obtained for Attempted Murder for Antwain Carter.
