Mother & Boyfriend Charged In Abuse Of Twin Toddlers

LINCOLNTON, NC — Police have arrested the boyfriend and mother of two twin 9-month-old boys after reports that they were physically abused to the point of hospitalization.

The twins’ mother, Hayley Hoyle, and her then boyfriend at the time of the abuse, Keith Clontz were arrested on Friday and charged after Lincoln County DSS reported physical abuse of the toddlers. According to reports, the twins were seriously injured during the abuse and had to be hospitalized.

Hoyle is charged with two misdemeanor counts of allowing child abuse resulting in physical injury. She was released on a $30,000 bond. Officials say Hoyle has no prior criminal record.

Clontz is charged with two felony counts of intentional child abuse resulting in physical injury, and remains in jail under a $150,000 bond. According to officials, Clontz has previously been convicted of felony manufacturing marijuana with aggravating factors, assault on a female, larceny, trespassing, driving while impaired, and other traffic related offenses.
