Three Suspects Arrested Following Armed Robbery, Vehicle Pursuit
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Police arrested three men that were involved in an armed robbery and vehicle pursuit on Tuesday.
Authorities said a woman was robbed at gunpoint while walking home on New Bern Street near South Boulevard in the early hours of Tuesday, May 21st.
Later that day around 10 p.m., officers in the Central area located a vehicle used in the robbery and determined it was stolen. Police also said the suspects attempted to use the victim’s credit card on Tuesday.
Officers attempted to pull the vehicle over, but the driver didn’t stop and initiated a vehicle pursuit. The chase ended after the driver lost control and struck a pole.
Police arrested the driver, 18-year-old Joaquin Lopez-Davidson, and two passengers, 19-year-old Nichols Lopez-Davidson and 31-year-old Joseph Cruz.
All three were charged with armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, financial card theft, conspiracy and financial card transaction fraud.
Officials also charged Joaquin Lopez-Davidson with two additional felonies – flee and elude, and possession of stolen goods – as he was operating the stolen vehicle.
