Three Killed In Murder-Suicide In Statesville

Update

After officers received a reported shooting call on May 24, they found 26-year-old Simone Williams deceased with a gunshot wound, according to a news release. The release states that after speaking with witnesses, 39-year-old Nicholas Goolsby was identified as a shooter, resulting in a perimeter being set around his residence, after witnesses claim he retreated to his residence.

Police say a search of the residence using a robot was conducted and a ten-month-old child was found on the first floor and the Statesville Police Department’s Special Response Team entered the residence to safely remove the child.

Two deceased individuals were found on the second floor and were identified as Nicholas Goolsby and 36-year-old Brandi Goolsby. An investigation indicated that Nicholas Goolsby shot Brandi Goolsby and preceded to commit suicide.

The release also says that Williams lived at the same residence as Nicholas and Brandi Goolsby. The child was taken to the hospital for evaluation and released into the custody of family members.

STATESVILLE, N.C. – Three people died in an alleged murder-suicide in Statesville on Friday morning.

Officers were called to a residence on Bunker Hill Lane around 7:30 a.m. Friday morning.

Upon arrival, officers located three people dead from gunshot wounds.

Follwing an active investigation, officials determined that the incident was a murder-suicide and that there are no suspects at-large.

An infant child was inside the home at the time of the shooting, but officials said the child was not injured.

The names of the victims have not been released at this time.
