FORT MILL, S.C. – Two women have been charged with animal cruelty after someone witnessed dogs fighting in the backyard of a Fort Mill home, according to the Fort Mill Police Department.
Officers were called to a home on Unity Street in Fort Mill at around noon on Tuesday, May 21st.
There, officers met with the witness who said they saw multiple dogs fighting, including one that attempted to bite at a puppy’s neck in an attempt to kill it.
When officers went to the home, they saw the puppy, supposedly dead, lying motionless in the middle of the yard, according to the incident report. The officers also said they found the dogs were malnourished and were living in deplorable conditions.
The homeowners – 26-year-old Megan Kerr and 34-year-old Bianca Derboghosian – were each charged with animal cruelty.
This case is still under investigation.
