CHESTER, S.C. – A South Carolina man was sentenced to life in prison after a jury found him guilty of killing his grandparents in Chester County in 2020, according to a news release.
Gene Alexzander Scott, 26, was found guilty on two counts of murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
The slaying of Gene Rodgers, 61, and Billie Rodgers, 78, occurred at their home on Doe Street on Father’s Day in June of 2020.
Scott was arrested in Germany while serving in the U.S. Army.
Scott received 60 years for each murder charged and five years for the weapon charge, all of which will run concurrently. He will serve without the possibility of parole.
