CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Two people were displaced from their north Charlotte home due to an accidental garage fire early Saturday morning, according to the Charlotte Fire Department.

It happened around 7 a.m. at a residence on Highcroft Lane.

Firefighters quickly controlled the fire in approximately 10 minutes.

The fire accidentally started in the garage due to a battery-powered lawn mower, according to CFD.

No injuries were reported, but two occupants of the home are displaced at this time.

The fire caused an approximate $22,000 in property damage.
