Thanksgiving Travelers Pack The Roads And Airport

CHARLOTTE, NC– “We’re here three hours early three and a half hours early, ” said one traveler.

Travelers arrived at the airport extra early anticipating the crowds and parking issues. Park And Go and all the long term lots filled up quickly and were closed, so people had to find alternate transportation to get to the terminal.

“We could not park here at the airport we found out so the airport gave us a list of other places we could park so we contacted them and parked our car there and they brought us here,” said Charlotte resident, Sandy Skibbe.

With thousands also hitting the highways to drive out of town air travelers had to prepare for not only the airport rush but the drive to get there.

” A lot of people on 85 but we got of my house very early we were driving slowly,” said Charlotte resident, Mo Alitaivi.

” Wow the traffic was substantial took me 45 minutes to get from the freeway into the rental car return,” said St. Louis resident, Kim Wennerberg.

But travelers say they were pleasantly surprised once they made it inside, ticket counters and security lines moved quickly.

“Once I got in the terminal it’s lighter than usual I fly here every week,” said Wennerberg.
