HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. – A vehicle collision involving two people resulted in one person dead and the other receiving life-threatening injuries, according to a news release.
The release states that on May 28, 2024, Huntersville police were dispatched to a traffic collision. The collision involved a 2004 Ford Explorer and a 2020 Volkswagen Jetta on NC Highway 73 near Jamesburg Drive and officers say they found 25-year-old Shakeem Chaney, driver of the Jetta, deceased.
The driver of the Explorer was transported to Novant Hospital with life threatening injuries.
The cause of the collision is currently being investigated.
