Cool and dry start for the next few mornings with sunny and pleasantΒ afternoons. Daytime highs will be slightly below average ranging from the mid 60s in the mountains to the upper 70s/low 80s across the Piedmont. This is all courtesy of a ridge of high pressure across the Great Lakes.Β Β

As we move into the weekend, surfaceΒ high pressureΒ willΒ move off the coastΒ leading to near average highs in the low to mid 80s Saturday. Moisture will also begin to creep back into the region leading to slight, but noticeable uptick in humidity. Expect a more summer-like pattern transition beginning Sunday withΒ increased humidity and the return of hit or miss afternoon storms. Next week, temperatures will climb into the upper 80s with increased rain and storm chances each afternoon.
