Drying Out For The Week Ahead

AM Headlines:
  • Not as Hot
  • Dry Week (after showers this AM south of I-85)
  • Heating Up Late Week
  • Weekend Cold Front
Discussion:
A front will stall south of the area today. This will keep isolated rain chances in the forecast for areas south of I-85. Highs will stay a bit below average today, reaching the low to mid 80s under partly to mostly cloudy skies that will fade through the day. Winds will transition out of the northwest tonight with lows falling into the mid 60s. Temps will remain near to slightly below average through Wednesday. High pressure builds in late in the week, which will help launch temps toward 90 late in the week. We STILL have not reached 90 this year. This will easily be a top 15-20 latest first 90 degree on record. A low pressure system will likely bring heavy rain to parts of Florida this week. It won’t have much help to push out of the Gulf so not likely to cause any issues this far north. A cold front will bring back rain and storm chances this weekend.
