WAKA: Promotional Sales Assistant (Full Time)

WAKA Action 8 News is looking for a dynamic and creative individual to join our staff as Promotional Sales Assistant to implement our sales promotions and special events.

This position would work with our sales team for WAKA (CBS), WBMM (CW), WNCF (ABC), EAKA (MeTV) and WAKA Digital.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Executing all on-air promotional and event campaigns, and sales/marketing initiatives (minus digital)
  • Working with Digital Marketing Assistant to coordinate continuity with logos and station messaging
  • Managing the logistics and time lines for all station events
  • Coordinating station promotional items
  • Handling prize coordination with viewers for varying campaigns
  • Set up contesting and sales promotion postings on waka.com
  • Updating and creating sales/marketing collateral including distribution to sales team and updating sales drive
  • Maintaining all political files (physical and digital)
  • Working with the traffic department on key projects
  • Coordinate weekly promotional meetings
  • Handle special requests from Account Executives for customized presentations
  • Report to Sales Management

Requirements:

  • Experience with executing promotions/special events.
  • Graphic design (Adobe Photoshop), Final Cut editing, social media content production and website posting experience a plus
  • Highly organized and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Creativity
  • Aptitude to take direction and handle additional assigned responsibilities
  • Ability to execute independently and meet all deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, advertising, communications or a similar field is preferred
  • Use of Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) is a plus
  • Media background experience is a plus
