Cedar Fair And Six Flags Update Merger, Plans For Carowinds

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Cedar Fair, the parent company of Carowinds, announced Tuesday that it expects its planned merger with Six Flags to be complete by July 1.

The new company will be headquartered in Charlotte. The Queen City is currently home to a majority of Cedar Fair’s executives.

Carowinds will operate under the name Six Flags once the deal is done. As for Carowinds, there is no word yet on what changes, if any, will come to the park.
