Three-Month Long Homicide Investigation Results In Arrest

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – CMPD detectives have arrested 27-year-old Divee Cunningham and charged him with first degree murder for his involvement in the death of 44-year-old David McNeil on March 22, according to a news release.

The release states that on March 22 police responded to a call for service and found a man struck by a vehicle and pronounced him dead. Police say that upon further investigation, it was determined that the victim was wounded before falling in the street and being run over shortly after.

On June 20, Cunningham was arrested after a warrant was obtained, charging him for first degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
