MANCHESTER, England (AP) — Manchester City kept alive its title hopes in the English Premier League by beating West Bromwich Albion 3-1 Monday night.

Goals by Pablo Zabaleta in the third minute and Sergio Aguero in the 10th built a 2-0 lead. Graham Dorrans cut the margin in half in the 16th, and Martin Demichelis scored for City in the 36th

City midfielder David Silva was carried off on a stretcher in the 69th minute after a seemingly innocuous challenge by Morgan Amalfitano. Silva’s right ankle has been bothering him for a last few weeks.

City (23-6-5) has 74 points with four games left, six points behind league-leading Liverpool (25-5-5) and one point behind second-place Chelsea (23-6-6). Liverpool hosts Chelsea on Sunday.

West Brom (6-13-15) is 16th with 33 points, three above the relegation zone, one point ahead of Norwich (8-19-8), three in front of Cardiff (7-19-9) and Fulham (9-23-3), and four ahead of Sunderland (7-19-8).
