Two Suspects Charged In Burke County Shooting
BURKE COUNTY, NC — Deputies say they have arrested two suspects in connection to the November shooting of Buddy Cook.
Kevin Matthew Revis, 31, of Hickory, and April Coleman, 34, of Spartanburg, SC, were both arrested Thursday morning around 9:30. According to reports, they were found in a vehicle parked in an area off of US 70 in Connelly Springs.
Officials say they responded to a shooting call at Knob Superette in Connelly Springs on Sunday, November 12th. Deputies later found an abandoned vehicle overturned on Berea Church Road, a short distance from Knob Superette, along with a handgun in the roadway and a sawed-off .20 gauge shotgun inside the vehicle.
The victim, Buddy Cook, arrived at CMC Valdeses with a gunshot wound to the stomach, and told officials he was shot by Matthew Revis.
Revis has been charged with felony Assault Inflicting Serious Injury, and misdemeanor Violation of Registration Provisions, Operating Vehicle W/O Insurance, Fictitious Title/Reg Card/Tag, Unsafe Tires, Hit and Run-Misd Property Damage, Expired Vehicle Inspection, Reckless Driving to Endanger Exceeding Safe Speed, Failure to Report Accident, and Driving Left of Center.
Coleman is charged with felony Accessory after the Fact.
