Discussion:
Today will still be hot, but it won’t be quite as stifling as drier air mixes down to the surface ahead of a cold front. Highs will reach the mid 90s and it will feel like the low end triple digits. Since there isn’t a lot of moisture associated with this front, isolatedΒ storms is what we will see at best. Winds will transition out of the northwest tonight bringing in drier air and lower humidity Thursday. Temps will remain hot with highs in the low to mid 90s. A stalled boundaryΒ along the coast will nudge inland, allowing moisture to stream back into the region. Cloudy skies and increased rain and storm chances for areas east of I-77 will help to keep temps in the upper 80s to near 90. More typical summertime pattern sets up this weekend with temps back in the low 90s and hit or miss afternoon storms. A ridge builds in next week, cranking temps back into the upper 90s.
