New K9 Helps With Drug Arrest In Chester County
CHESTER, S.C. – A man was arrested after a K9 sniffed out methamphetamine and other narcotics during a traffic stop in Chester County.
Around 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, officers conducted a traffic stop on Hudson Street near Gadsden Street in Chester.
During the stop, newly trained K9 Sammie sniffed around and indicated narcotics were in the vehicle, deputies said.
A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of 23.85 grams of methamphetamine, .12 grams of fentanyl, a glass pipe for smoking methamphetamine and 10 rounds of Winchester .243 ammunition, the sheriff’s office said.
The driver, Bradford Cook, was arrested and transported to the Chester County Detention Center. He has been charged with the following:
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition by Person Convicted of PWID (Person Who Inject Drugs), manufacturing, distribution or trafficking controlled
- Trafficking in methamphetamine, 10 grams or more but less than 28 grams – 3rd or subsequent offense
- Possession of Fentanyl, more than 2 grains – 3rd or subsequent offense.
This is K9 Sammie’s first narcotics seizure since joining the force on July 1st.
