HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. – A suspect is in custody and one person is in the hospital after a shooting near a McDonald’s in Huntersville on Thursday afternoon.
It happened around 3 p.m. Thursday on Cane Creek Drive near Eastfield Road and Old Statesville Road.
Officers responded to the area in regards to a disturbance that led to a shooting, the police department said.
A man was shot and taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police said they took one person into custody and are not looking for any other suspects at this time.
No other details about what led up to the shooting have been released.
There is no threat to the general public at this time.
