Confirmed Case Of Mumps At Winthrop University

ROCK HILL, SC– Students are on edge at Winthrop University after a confirmed case of the mumps on campus.

A letter was emailed out on Wednesday saying anyone who was on campus between December 8th and the 14th may have been exposed to the virus.
We caught up with one student who says washing your hands just isn’t enough.

The mumps is a contagious virus that can lead to swelling and pain in the salivary glands. It most commonly affects kids ages 5-to-14… But the rate among young adults has increased over the last two decades.
