CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte Department of Transportation will begin salting roads in anticipation of winter weather event Friday night or Saturday morning.
Street maintenance crews will begin salting bridges, hospital entrances, and called in emergencies first.

Citizens should report icy road conditions by calling CharMeck 311.Β Also, reports of routine icing on City streets can be called in to 704-336-3200.Β Actual emergencies and accidents should be called in to 911.
