Discussion:
Today will once again be steamy with highs reaching the mid 90s across the Piedmont. A heat advisory will be in effect from noon until 8pm for most counties east of I-77. Heat index values will reach 105-107+. Scattered afternoon storms triggered by the high heat and fueled by abundant moisture will once again pop early to mid-afternoon. Wednesday will remain hot and humid, but an approaching cold front will bring more unsettled weather and a drop in temperatures for the second half of  the week. This front will likely stall with a series of disturbances bringing rounds of rain and storms to the region through the weekend. Highs will top out in the low to mid 80s beginning Friday with the threat of localized flooding where storms train.
